MSTT/Vic. Men's Team win Aust. title

This year's Australian Men's Team event can be best described as "groundhog year" as opposed to the famous movie, Groundhog Day. In a unique series of events, 2014 & 2015 were nearly identical where the MSTT/Vic. Men's Team won the Australian Team title in a thriller against NSW.

The similarities were,

- Vic. Men's Team (4 players) was all MSTT players/coaches (David Powell, Heming Hu, Chamara Fernando & Dillon Chambers)

- Team beat QLD in Semi Final 4-2

- Team played NSW in Final

- Match score was 3-3 in Final therefore the title came down to last match

- Chamara playing last match

- Chamara winning last match

This year had bit more intrigue as the NSW Team was stronger and the last match being decided by the narrowest margin in the deciding last (5th) set which included Chamara serving a fault at match point (10-9) in the 5th and deciding set.

In a topsy turvy Team Match, NSW appeared to be in the box seat when they led 3-2 after Chris Yan won both his matches by thrashing David Powell and beating Heming 3-1 then Justin Han beating Chamara. Vic's 2 wins came from Heming defeating Erny Tsao whom he lost to in last year's Team Final and David & Heming winning Men's Doubles. With NSW leading 3-2 Justin Han played Heming Hu who he had never lost to Heming but this time was different and Heming played some of his best TT winning 3-1. At 3 matches all, Chamara played Erny in what seemed to be a 50-50 match and certainly panned out that way. In a hard fought in front of a good size crowed for Aust. standards, the match was locked at 2 sets all. It was neck and neck through the last set then Chamara gained a match point at 10-9 but then served a fault to make this intense situation even more intense. Through his typical fighting qualities, Chamara overcame that mishap and won the last 2 points to claim the set 12-10 and that match 3-2 and the overall scoreline 4-3 and Australian Team Title to Victoria, aka, MSTT Team.

Vic Men's Team

In the Women's Team Event, Victoria crushed all their rivals and defeated NSW in Final 6-1 with MSTT's Jasmine Chao beating Australian Team member Sally Zhang in straight sets, 3-0 and going through the Team Event undefeated on 14-0. The Vic. Team only lost 2 individual matches through the whole Team Event.
