Darcie Morton was awarded the East Gippsland Junior Athlete of the Year for her achievements last year which included,
- Qualifying for Oceania Cadet (U15) Team where only one Australian player can be in the team
- Playing World Cadet Challenge
- Finished 2nd at U15 Girls Australian Top 10 tournament
- Australian Ranked no. 2 U15 Girl
- Won various U15 Girls Singles title at Victorian tournaments
Nominations for this award covered a variety of sports.
Darcie won $2,000 for gaining this award and helps reinburse for her expenses which range from, training, airfares, accomodations & food in Europe for 4 months (early Nov 2013 - end Feb 2014), playing International, National & State tournaments. Also helps covers some of petrol, coaching & training fees when travel to Melbourne which is 5hrs from their home.

Next main events for Darcie will be representing Australia at Oceania Championships, then preparing for World Junior Circuit tournament & Oceania Cadet Qualifying in Cook Islands during May.
