MSTT player Parleen Kaur was the victor in a 10 girl round robin at the ITTF Oceania Hopes (U12) Event. After finishing 2nd in 2013 as a 10yr old, this year Parleen went one spot better and won every match, with all bar one in straight sets. In the last match she had to defeat chopper/defensive player, Jiyai Zhou from New Zealand to see who finished 1st. Parleen won 3-1.
Parleen has gained the benefit of fully utilising all services MSTT program can offer on a weekly basis. She has been coached by MSTT Head Coach since March 2013 but since Aug. 2013 has weekly Individual Coaching from Mark and Chamara Fernando, attends weekly group training session run by Mark and plays Rapid Fire League (RFL). Parleen was then coached by David Powell during the Hopes Tournament.
Parleen now gets an ITTF financially assisted trip to Slovenia for the ITTF Hopes Week & Challenge from June 9 - 15 that incorporates a training camp and tournament (World Hopes Challenge) with other Hopes players from around the world who won their continental region's.
