Day 1 of the annual Australian Top 10 tournament saw a rare feat acheived where MSTT have 5 of the 10 male participants, after withdrawals from no. 1 William Henzell then Ivan Sulfaro, both due to injury.
MSTT players in the Men's draw are, David Powell, Heming Hu, Chamara Fernando, Dillon Chambers and Yang Shen.
Heming had a great day 1 defeating close friend David Powell and finishing 1st in the group and will face arch rival Kane Townsend in SF tomorrow.
David had a disappointing day after losing a close match to Heming then going down to Erny Tsao in next match and will playoff for positions 5 - 8 tomorrow. Erny has recently become an awkward conveyance for David with Erny leading David 4-0 in the 5th set at Aust. Team Final few months ago.
Dillon had a strong win over Kiet Tran (NSW) and will playoff for positions 5-8.
Yang had a good win over Dillon and will playoff for positions 9-10.
Chamara didn't win any but lost 13-11 in the 5th against Erny and will play Yang for position 9-10.
