MSTT player/coach David Powell won his first Vic. Open Men's Singles title defeating fellow MSTT player/coach Chamara Fernando 4 - 1 in the final.
In what was nearly an all MSTT Semi-Final David turned the tables on Heming Hu, from one week ago, by winning 4-1 after Heming has won their last 3 encounters and Chamara had a great 4-3 win over Simon Gerada who he had only defeated twice previously in many matches spread over last 17 years.
