This year's Oceania Cadet Team was decided in Kiribati at the beginning of Oceania Junior Championships. All positions in the Cadet Team are qualified for, but only one player from each country can make the Team of 4 players for each gender. Two players from each country are permitted to particiate. For Australia it was Benjamin Gould (QLD) and Mateo Dvorani (QLD) in the boys with Rebecca Stanley (QLD) and Georgina Newton (TAS) in the girls.
- Benjamin finished first in the boys qualifying.
- Georgina finished 2nd in girls qualifying but finished one spot above Rebecca therefore earning her spot in the Oceania Team.
The boys & girls events were very close in the final stage with no standout player. The Oceania Team will participate in World Cadet Challenge from Oct. 23 - 31.
