Yang Shen wins Cadet Boys Singles at Oceania's World Junior Circuit Event for 2nd successive year

Yang had a brilliant tournament in New Caledonia (played Aug. 17 & 18) and won the Cadet (U15) Boys Singles title for the 2nd year in a row.

The 4th seeded Yang played no. 1 seed Dominic Huang (Vic) in the SF and won 11-6 in the deciding 5th set. In the other SF, no. 2 seed Jake Duffy (QLD) had a solid 3-1 victory over the no. 3 seed from Korea.

Yang had never defeated Jake; they had played each other on 4-5 occasions since 2010. This time Yang had his time in the sun and won in a close match, 3-1 to become the only Australian player to retain/defend a singles title on the World Junior Circuit series.

MSTT congratulates Yang on this great achievement.
