Chamara becomes Aust. Over 30 Men's Singles Champion

MSTT player & coach, Chamara Fernando won Australian O30 Men's Singles title, defeating one of his former doubles partners, Scott Houston (SA) 3 - 0 in the final. In 2008, Chamara & Scott teamed together to win their biggest career title, Oceania Men's Doubles title defeating William Henzell & David Zalcberg in final. Chamara also won the O40 Mixed Doubles title with Lan Zhai.

A great acheivement by Chamara who had a 4 year break after 2008 and started practising again early in 2013 and playing some tournaments. This was possibly the strongest Australian Veteran Championships ever played with 1996 Olympian Paul Langley participating plus Scott Houston former top 6 Ranked player in Aust. plus Chamara being ranked between 7 - 10 in Aust. from 1999 - 2008.
