David Powell and Heming Hu travel to India for Commonwealth Championships

MSTT players, David Powell and Heming Hu, departed Melbourne tonight and are headed to Delhi, India, where the 2013 Commonwealth Championships are being staged.

This tournament is essentially similar to the Commonwealth Games in which all the commonwealth countries will participate in a teams and individual event. Joining David and Heming in the team are brothers Kane and Wade Townsend from New South Wales. Powell said "I know we have a young team this year is, but we've all had a good lead up and we're ready to fight it out amongst the best players in the Commonwealth". This is David's second Commonwealth Championships (first in 2009) and Heming Hu's debut into the Men's National Team. The Women’s Team is Vivian Dederko, sisters Perri & Claire Campbell-Innes and Melissa Tapper. Good luck to the whole team.
